Our desire to write this book emerged from the fact that there are insufficient books and publications that highlight the experiences and accomplishments of immigrant African women. We chose to change that narrative, to avoid becoming a silent generation. We believe we can help change the journey of other immigrant women by sharing our unique stories of challenges, hardiness, triumph, and tips for success.
Dr. Nneka Chukwu holds a Doctoral Degree in Nursing with an emphasis in Healthcare Systems Leadership, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a certification as an Advanced Nurse Executive, and a certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant. She has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including Maternal Child Health, Critical Care, Leadership, Academia, and Quality/Risk Management.
Dr. Angela Ikeme holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of San Francisco in Executive Leadership, a Master’s in Nursing Education Degree from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree from the University of Phoenix.
Margaret currently serves as the Behavioral Health Director at the County of Santa Clara Health and Hospital System in San Jose, California.
